Leah, that story is both hilarious and horrifying! Mostly hilarious though, especially since it wasn’t a gift one of my kids made for me! lol! I SOOO hope you took a picture of his “gift” to show him when he’s older.

I just found your blog today, and I couldn’t help but comment.

I have a four children, and I completely understand about the bathroom trash fears.

About 4 years ago, my son (then age 6-ish) decided to make me a gift. Naturally, he set about the house to find the needed materials. He settled on creating a toilet-roll “moose” complete with antlers. Used tampon tube antlers. From the garbage. Imagine my horror and surprise when he presented the gift. He was so proud! Hubby and I nearly fell over with supressed laughter!! I can’t wait until he’s old enough to explain to him why it was so funny! (and gross!) He’s gonna die.

during my 8 years of dorm living, we were told MANY, MANY times not to flush tampons. Let’s just say that I hated that monthly visitor even more during those years.

I’ve never heard them called white mice before. that’s too funny!!!

I can’t even think of a comment for this one. lol.

Though the thought of using the mooncup ( http://www.mooncup.co.uk/ ) instead of white mice comes to mind as a possible solution.

Really, I’ll do a review on the mooncup, ones of these days….maybe next year? LOL!

Surely newer homes are well equipt in the plumbing department? Aren’t they?? I sure hope so!

What a horrible experience! I am so glad you weren’t home at the time. I would have died!

I think we must have good big pipes, because I’ve seen some full loads going down, though they don’t ALL go down the first time. I must teach the kids the proper amount of TP to use. They enjoy using tons it seems!
