I think this is a great idea. It really would make it more convenient. And I agree with you about the “not having enough time” excuse. It really is a choice to make the time and make it a habit.

Thank you so much for posting this.. I have really been trying to be consistent with my devotions..but I tend to put it off until very late at night when the house is sleeping..but sometimes I fall asleep too… I like the idea of having your little basket .. makes it fun.. and creative.. There is nothing that soothes my soul more than having time with God.. I just wish I remember THAT everyday..!!!!

Marian, come back anytime! I know I posted a comment on your blog about this already but I’m working on the fourth birth story. Since it was more recent (duh!) I remember a lot more and so I’m a bit overwhelmed with the amount of info (and pics) I have for this one. But I’ll get it up soon. BTW, I hope to have some drunken slugs soon too! Thanks for the tip.

Heather, she’ll start sleeping in later soon. My four are all early risers too but they are old enough to understand that they are not allowed out of bed before 7am. Course, there’s always one or two that wander out early but I just have to remind them that it’s not time and they go right back to bed. So hang in there, another 8 months or so and you’ll be able to start teaching Ladybug the same thing. =0)

Marissa and Elizabeth, I’m glad you got some ideas from this post. Come back and let me know how your basket is working out. Well, and just visit for no reason any time too!

Thanks for inspiring me. I heard this idea YEARS ago, never tried it, and had forgotten all about it.

Thanks for stopping by my blog for WFMW (I’m the lady with the inebriated slugs in my garden…).

I see that you have a whole section on births here I’ll have to stop back again to read them when I have time. (I don’t know if you browsed my new blog at all, but I’m a doula on hold and admitted birth junkie!) That was a good idea to give the topic a segregated section. Usually, people who are interested really are, and people who aren’t really are NOT!

This is a great idea! I have my Bible and study book stacked together, so I can grab them on the way to whichever room I need to be in. I am looking forward to the days when my little one sleeps in longer so I can have my quiet mornings on the back porch. She’s an early riser! Earlier than me, and I am definitely a morning person.

Love the idea of a basket. I’ll have my eyes open for a good one for me!

I really like your idea of the movable basket. I can see where that would be very handy.

That basket is a great idea. I think I’ll try it. I am trying to “fit in” a quiet time everyday, and am still learning that it should be the first thing I do everyday, rather than a leftover chore to fit in somewhere. The basket idea inspires me today.
